Am vergangenen Freitag, den 13. Dezember, fand das diesjährig letzte Digital Sounding Board (DSB) in Form eines „Venture Reviews“ statt, in dessen Rahmen der Status von drei unserer aktuellen Innovationsprojekte vorgestellt wurde. Ziel des DSB ist es, den Fortschritt dieser Projekte zu bewerten und Feedback an die Teams zu geben.
Ein Schlüsselprojekt, das vorgestellt wurde, ist NEXUS Brew – eine innovative Softwarelösung für die Brauindustrie. Die Installation der Software konnte mittlerweile bei 9 Pilotkunden erfolgreich abgeschlossen und über 40 weitere qualifizierte Kunden identifiziert werden. Für die weitere Skalierung von NEXUS Brew Bedarf es im weiteren Verlauf einer Sensorlösung, um die Datengewinnung zu optimieren. Parallel wird durch die Einführung weiterer Parameter der Fermentationsprozess durch Datenanalysen effizienter überwacht und kontrolliert werden. Neben dem immensen lateinamerikanischen Markt versprechen erste Gespräche mit potenziellen Kunden im australischen und asiatischen Raum ein zukünftiges Wachstum. Durch diese Entwicklung rückt der Schritt vom Projekt hin zur Ausgründung von NEXUS Brew in 2025 immer näher.
Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt lag auf dem Themenkomplex „Smart Mining“. Dieses Projekt befindet sich derzeit in der Früh-Phase. Hier geht es darum, den Bereich Mining und die Möglichkeiten, die sich mittels neuer Technologien ergeben zu verstehen. Im Rahmen des DSB wurde der Themenkomplex „Smart Mining“ und die sich daraus ergebenden Herausforderungen und Probleme vorgestellt. Im weiteren Projekt-Verlauf sollen nun die identifizierten Probleme validiert werden, um basierend darauf konkrete Lösungsideen zu erarbeiten. Diese werden dann nach und nach mit Interviews, Klick-Dummies oder Softwareprototypen auf Herz und Nieren überprüft. Dadurch wird die vielversprechendste Idee frühzeitig erkannt und sich daraufhin fokussiert.
Last but not least präsentierte eines unserer ersten Spinoffs – SensXpert – seinen aktuellen Entwicklungsstand und gab einen Forecast für das kommende Geschäftsjahr und die zu erwartende Entwicklung über die nächsten Jahre hinweg. Mit einer vielversprechenden Kunden-Pipeline startet man hier in das neue Jahr.

NEDGEX Venture Review: Update on Early-Stage Innovation Projects at NETZSCH
Last Friday, 13 December, this year’s final Digital Sounding Board (DSB) took place, in form of a “Venture Review”, during which the status of three of our current innovation projects was presented. The aim of the DSB is to assess the progress of these projects and provide feedback to the teams.
One key project that was presented is NEXUS Brew – an innovative software solution for the brewing industry. The installation of the software has now been successfully completed at 9 pilot customers and over 40 further potential customers have been identified. For the further scaling of NEXUS Brew, a sensor solution is required to optimise data acquisition. Meanwhile, the fermentation process will be monitored and controlled more efficiently through data analyses by introducing additional parameters. In addition to the immense Latin American market, discussions with potential customers in Australia and Asia have a promising potential for growth. This development brings the NEXUS Brew project spin-off in 2025 ever closer.
Another focus was on the topic of ‘Smart Mining’. This project is currently in the early stages. The aim here is to understand the field of mining and the opportunities that arise from new technologies. The ‘Smart Mining’ topic and its challenges and opportunities were presented as part of the DSB. In the further steps, the identified problems are now to be validated in order to develop concrete solutions. These are then gradually put under the lens using interviews, click dummies or software prototypes. Therefore, the most promising idea is recognised at an early stage which the full focus on the most important part.
Last but not least, one of our first spin-offs – SensXpert – presented its current development status and provided a forecast for the upcoming business year as well as the expected progress over the next few years. With a promising customer pipeline, they are entering the new year.
As part of the DSB, NEDGEX showed how projects such as NEXUS Brew and Smart Mining can transform traditional industries with digital technologies.
