Im September hat das mittlerweile 33. Treffen des Digital Sounding Boards (DSB) der NETZSCH-Gruppe stattgefunden. Es wurden zwei innovative Projekte vorgestellt, wovon eines ein Acceleration-Projekt war, das von NEDGEX unterstützt wurde, während das andere Projekt von NEDGEX in enger Kooperation mit einem internen Team des Geschäftsbereiches A&T umgesetzt wurde.
Termica Neo
Elena Moukhina und Ivan Issaev haben eine Software namens Termica Neo (https://termica.netzsch.com/de) entwickelt. Diese Software ermöglicht die Simulation des thermischen Verhaltens und der thermischen Sicherheit bei chemischen Reaktionen und Kristallisationen in Feststoffen oder Flüssigkeiten in Volumina von Zentimeter bis Meter. In den letzten Monaten wurde mit Unterstützung von NEDGEX und dem Ökosystempartner alphabuild eine umfassende Marktvalidierung durchgeführt, bei der potenzielle Kunden und mehrere Experten interviewt wurden, um das Geschäftspotenzial der Software zu verstehen und abzuschätzen. Die wichtigste Erkenntnis: Das Interesse und die potenzielle Nachfrage im Markt sind höher als erwartet. Dies hat auch den DSB überzeugt. Das Projekt wird die Software nun gemeinsam mit mehreren BETA-Testkunden bis Ende dieses Jahres weiterentwickeln.
buddAI
“buddAI” präsentierte die Ergebnisse von NEDGEX im Bereich ChatGPT und Large Language Models sowie die Ergebnisse des Teams “Data World” unter der Leitung von Andreas Strobel. Das Team aus dem Geschäftsbereich zeigte den Fortschritt im “Data World”-Projekt, das Teil der A&T-Strategie 27 AI-Opportunity ist. In diesem Projekt werden über 600 Dokumente von der A&T-Website verwendet, um einen Chatbot zu entwickeln, der Fragen zu Anwendungen und Produkten im Geschäftsbereich beantworten kann. Basierend auf dem Feedback von Kollegen im Feld wird das Projektteam den Bot weiter verbessern und mit zusätzlichen Informationen ausstatten, um noch spezifischere Fragen und Anliegen zu unterstützen.
Das buddAI-Team, bestehend aus Mitarbeitern von NEDGEX und dem TechColab in Brasilien, präsentierte ihren Proof of Concept (PoC) inklusive Webzugang und Benutzeroberfläche. Dies wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Wissensmanagement-Team entwickelt und kann allgemeine Informationen über NETZSCH sowie einfache Unterstützung bei der Bedienung und Wartung bestimmter Pumpen und Mühlen bieten. Das Team präsentierte auch einige der Ideen, die im Laufe des Projekts in Zusammenarbeit mit Kollegen von NETZSCH weltweit entwickelt wurden.
Das buddAI-Team plant nun, sich auf die Zielgruppe der Serviceeinheiten in verschiedenen Branchen, auch außerhalb von NETZSCH, zu konzentrieren. BuddAI wird die tägliche Arbeit von Servicetechnikern mithilfe von generativer KI in einer App verbessern.
Fazit
Beide Projekte, “Termica Neo” und “buddAI”, erhielten grünes Licht vom DSB für die nächste Runde und weitere Unterstützung. Wir warten gespannt auf den Fortschritt der Projekte und ihre nächsten Schritte.

33rd Digital Sounding Board Meeting – NEDGEX Pitchday
In September, the now 33rd meeting of the Digital Sounding Board (DSB) of the NETZSCH Group took place. Two innovative projects were presented, one of which was an Acceleration project supported by NEDGEX, while the other project was implemented by NEDGEX in close cooperation with an internal team of the A&T business unit.
Termica Neo
Elena Moukhina and Ivan Issaev developed a software called Termica Neo (https://termica.netzsch.com/de) The software enables the simulation of the thermal behavior and thermal safety for chemical reactions and crystallization in solids or liquids in volumes with sizes from centimeters to meters. In the last months, together with the support of NEDGEX and the ecosystem partner alphabuild, a deep market validation by interviewing potential customers and several experts was done in order to understand and estimate the business potential of the software. The key finding: market interest and potential demand is even higher than expected. This also convinced the DSB. The project will now further develop the software together with several BETA test customers by the end of this year.
buddAI
“buddAI” presented the results of NEDGEX in the ChatGPT and Large Language Models field, as well as the results of the “Data World” team led by Andreas Strobel. The team from the business sector showcased their progress in the “Data World” project, which is part of A&T’s Strategy 27 AI-Opportunity. In this project, over 600 documents from the A&T website are being used to develop a chatbot, that is capable of answering questions about applications and products within the business sector. Based on feedback from colleagues in the field, the project team will continue to enhance the bot and provide it with additional information to support even more specific questions and issues.
The buddAI team, made up of employees from NEDGEX and the TechColab in Brazil, showed their Proof of Concept (PoC) including web access and a user interface. This was developed in collaboration with the Knowledge Management team and can provide general information about NETZSCH as well as simple assistance for operating and maintaining specific pumps and mills. The team also showcased some of the ideas that were developed in collaboration with colleagues from NETZSCH worldwide throughout the project.
The buddAI team now plans to focus on the target audience of service units in various industries, also outside NETZSCH. BuddAI will improve the daily work life of service technicians by using a gernerative AI in an app.
Conclusion
Both projects, “Termica Neo” and “buddAI” received the go from the DSB for the next round and further support. We eagerly await the progress of the projects and their next steps.
